Dr. Thomas Wright, DPM, is personable, fun loving, and enjoys doing everything he can for his patients. His focus on what he can do to help make your life easier and more pain free is what gets him out of bed in the morning. Dr. Wright performs surgeries on a near weekly basis at Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital and he runs Montana Foot and Ankle the rest of the week for all other non-surgical foot and ankle needs. He and his family moved to Bozeman, MT a few years ago, taking over Montana Foot and Ankle from the beloved Dr. J.D. Clark after his retirement. Dr. Wright and Dr. Clark worked together to ensure a smooth transition for the practice and for Dr. Wright to meet Dr. Clark’s longtime patients. Dr Wright is committed to furthering the practice of podiatry in the Gallatin Valley and beyond.
Outside of work, Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with his family of 7. He often takes his kids camping, skiing, and fishing and is always introducing them to the world around them. Dr.
Wright and his wife frequently host their parents and siblings and they love having a full house, especially for the holidays. Dr. Wright and his family frequently travel to visit family and spend time throughout different parts of the United States. Dr. Wright is always looking to expand on what he can do outside of work in Montana communities to further appreciate the wonderful place we live.
Prior to calling Bozeman home, Dr. Wright studied surgical techniques at the prestigious Coachella Valley Foot and Ankle Institute in California where he was graduate of the year in his fellowship. He completed his fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction and trauma surgery with additional credentials in minimally invasive surgical techniques of the foot and ankle. While working and learning new techniques, Dr. Wright was also involved in research for advancing surgical techniques.
Dr. Wright completed a three year residency program at the Carl T. Hayden VA Hospital in Phoenix, AZ where he excelled in his podiatric medicine and surgical residency with added credentials in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Dr. Wright worked with dozens of surgeons all over Phoenix on a large variety of cases which gives him an exceptional scope of practice. While in residency, he discovered his love for teaching and would organize weekly resident review lectures focusing on case studies and new research in podiatry. Dr. Wright gained exceptional experience in wound care management and prevention in Phoenix and he continues to apply those practices today in Bozeman.
At the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Wright was awarded the Scholl Merit Scholar Award, the Martin Stroller DPM Memorial IPMA scholarship, and the APMA George Clark Memorial scholarship. He was heavily involved in extracurricular activities and worked his way up to president of the Scholl student chapters of the Health Care Project and the Save a Leg, Save a Life Foundation.
He received his B.S. in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University. During his time in college, he volunteered in his local emergency room and tutored at a low income high school.
